I have been asked so many times, and finally I want to be as honest as possible and talk about why I don't believe in God. Share your thoughts with me, if you would like, and remember, I am always willing to discuss these ideas with anyone.

I was raised as a Muslim and became a Christian. Though I don’t agree with what AP believes, his work is needed. Much appreciated

if evereyone had the ability to conduct a discussion like this, 90% of the world conflicts wouldn't exist.

I agree. I was born into a christian family. My best friend was a muslim. Spending a lot of time with her showed me that I could have been her. She actually wanted to convert to christianity bc she didn't quite like the cultural aspects of islam and how different women are being treated. She thought Christianity was way more liberal. Now she is atheist but pretends to be muslim because of her family.

I am an ex-muslim atheist, but I really respect people who believe god. But sorry, i am really anti religion and anti people who corrupt other people for their benefits in the name of god.

Although i consider myself an atheist i still do love the idea of religion. My grandmother had a pretty hard life and she turned to Christianity and it gave her a lot of strength she wouldn't have otherwise. She's one of the nicest people i know. Religion can have something like a therapeutic effect on some people which is great in my opinion.

my close muslim friend tried to convert me to islam by arranging a meeting between me with an muslim scholar/imam, i asked so many questions ( why muslims like Aurangzeb, although he never treated hindus well ?  isnt everything (muslims do) for the lure of paradise after death ? At what distance from earth and at which direction in sky there exists a paradise ? is there a single planet dedicated to paradise and hell by the god ? what is source of power and energy of god, a kind of neuclear reactor or an advance source ? if god has infinite power and energy, does he has infinite mass also, and hence infinite gravity also, it doesnt seem so at any level - as mass (gravity) and energy are inconvertible and they are bound to coexist for continuous generation of energy like all stars do ? why all living creatures including trees dont go to heaven or hell - why only humans ? Quran's claim that it is perfect book cant be true - as it contradicts todays human values, war crimes guidelines, etc. Even muslim countries follow these internation human rights guidelines. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj instructed his soldiers not to disrespect any woman of any religion at enemy side during war times and he used to punish his own soldiers for any attempt of sexual crimes such as rape. He used to escort enemy women safely and would treat them as his sisters and would arrange to send them back respectfully to their areas. But Mr. Muhammad orders muslims to keep women of enemies as sex slaves and distribure them like any other commodity. Who is more ethical, moral and rahiman e rahim or merciful to all even to enemy women ? How a book ordering such warcrimes can be regarded as best one. ) he couldnt convince me, now he dont even calls or messeges me ... as if his motive behind our friendship was to convert me to islam, i sometimes think how good was ge until religion started popping up in us. In India, we adress Muslims fondly and respectfully as 'bhai' (brother) but they dont even be normal 'dost' (friend) . I m definitely not saying that all muslims are same, but too much religious muslims tend to behave like that, i have seen this in my IIT college days also. Education doesnt necessarily transform an extremist's mind. (There are examples when hindu muslims are great friend for life also, but its rare)

This is precisely what I've always felt about religion. Thank you for verbalizing it all

Proud that I'm no more a Muslim. I have even managed to convert a Hindu friend of mine. Thinking back I realise how stupid I was.

I don't believe in God anymore because of a psychosis experience where I had religious delusions. I thought those delusions were the way God communicated with me. These delusions led me to harm myself and others in the name of obeying God. When I started taking medication and the delusions and hallucinations stopped, I realized there is no difference between me and a religious person. I was in so much pain and suffering that my mind created a notion of God and delusions around it just to make sense of my suffering and pain. When in fact I was harming myself and others because I thought I was doing the right thing. Now I live in regret and shame for I have done in the name of God. Then I came to this conclusion: God is a man made concept to make sense of suffering, but in reality we live in utmost randomness. There is no actual plan, or sense of "test". Because why would God test a person who lost their mind ? If they can't differentiate between right and wrong. I used to be very religious and seriously devoted but I didn't find any peace of mind like it was promised. Being religious before this psychosis experience did not eliviate any of my suffering. So what's the point ? To do like others do, and to belong to a certain group of people.

If God is real then he would love a kind and helpful atheist more than an ignorant and murderous religious fanatic.

I was born in Algeria and learned Islam in school, but I chose to follow Jesus Christ as an adult. Jesus is my savior. I love him. I didn't chose a religion, I chose to follow Jesus. He gives me spiritual force and he protects me. He responds to my prayers. I believe he is the Lord and he will come back. How I know he is the living God ? I was struggling with anxiety, depression and had bad thoughts in general. The day after I've been saved, everything was washed away. Since that day, I felt peace within me that I couldn't understand. I felt like that when I was a little child. I still have problems in life but since I know Jesus Christ, I felt a profound peace within me that never goes away. As I've been saved, I want to share the gospel with people, it's up to them, they can accept Jesus or reject him. It's their choice.
Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me.

Jesus responds to you AP: “Enter through the narrow gate.(A) For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

Dear A.P.
This is the first time I’ve heard and watched you. Your summary and passion have moved me greatly today. I have to sit quietly and reflect before I can even write back.

[30 minutes later]. I’ve never heard a more cogent truth than the points you presented on your video. Our evolved intelligence is a two edged sword. On one side, we have one of the most advanced brains of any creature, but on the other side, we are so particularly prone to illogical and nonsensical beliefs and are easily indoctrinated (often from childhood) and brainwashed to believe that which is not true or defies logic. It took me till my 60s to arrive at such a truth, that you so beautifully and precisely articulated here.
