This list is on point! I traded in my VFR in for a new street triple last year. I almost bought a Ducati Monster!

Only bike you missed was the CBR 954RR. My favorite bike of all time. If I could go back in time I would have kept mine!

I had a new 1984 Honda VFR 750 and 20 years later I bought a new 2004 VFR 800. I loved both of them as an older guy I smoked a friend on a Hayabusa in the twisty. While the VFR 800 was not a true sport bike it wasn’t a slouch. It was a comfortable every day rider and a well rounded bike that at the time was hard to find. Almost everything else at the time was hyper focused.

I own a VFR 750, my dad owns a 750 and an 800, and my brother had a 750. They are delightful.

Going to make an argument for the 1st gen sv650. Maybe the 2nd gens as well but the EFI vs carburetor issue makes for a weaker case.

I owned a Black '98 VFR. Imo the best VFR's were 1998 and 99. Still with the gear driven cams of the previous generation but adding FI. The 98/99 were pre cat so had more power than the '00 and '01. It made good power from 4-12K and was by far the best sounding bike I ever owned. Rode it like I stole it and she was bulletproof. Never touched the valves. An amazing sport touring bike. I live in the Philippines now and ride a Honda XRM 125, which I also love.

i own a bmw r1150gs, gotta say there are some things that need to be changed. both rear and front brake lines need to be upgraded, along with verifying if the abs system works. the carbon canister needs to be deleted sonce it can recirculate fuel mixed with carbon through the fuel pump/filter. the cam chain tensioner needs to be replaced with a 1200 tensioner (~$180) and the fuel filler cap can let water in. however, i cant lie its one of the best bikes to take on trips, and agile enough for city riding. the transmission is agricultural at best, yet raw and engaging. they are simplicity itself when doing regular maintenance though, and the suspension makes the bike feel rigid yet planted so you get a real sense of confidence in the twisties. if you can find one for about 3500 to 5000 bucks, snap it up. the lower the miles the better, but try and find one around 40-50k miles. reliability wise its a treat, however getting them serviced at a motorad can be a hit or miss, depending on if theyll work on a 20 year old bike. definitely made for larger riders, theyre about 550-600lbs with everything on. alright thats basically everything i can think of.
