It’s been a little bit over 3 year since Chance the Rapper last dropped off his latest solo project Acid Rap, but thankfully that streak finally comes to an end here today. With the clock striking midnight, the Chicago rapper decided to make his new effort, Coloring Book, available on iTunes/ Apple Music.

Here’s what Chance had to say about the album before its release,

“Yeah. This stuff is way better than Surf. I’ll say that on record. Donnie [Trumpet] is awesome, and the project was awesome, but this is all of us focusing our efforts into some very hip-hop and very dance-y shit, and it feels good. So I’m excited about that."

This song invokes that feeling of nostalgia and reminiscing on my high school days. Me and my friends would sometimes ditch school and get chips and soda from the local grocery store and come back to my place in my room. We'd hop on the couch and play games all through the evening and night. Summers were so warm in my room but we didn't care and just chill. Sometimes, they'd crash in my room for weeks straight. It was a place where everything happening in the world just faded away and it was just us. An elephant could be marching through the middle of town and we'd be in our own little world. Good times.

This is my summer 2016 anthem. One of the best times of my life. I stopped playing so much video games, got my grades up, and made new friends. This song was bumping when I first kissed a girl, like really really kissed a girl. Shit's so magical. First beat drop just gives me chills. Remembering all those good times in the warmth of the sun, with the dad cap, slightly sweating, but still jamming.
