What a charming piece! Definitely easy relative to most of Beethoven's piano works, but it certainly has its challenges. Easy is always a relative term.

Just like his first variation.

I don't know why, but I prefer Beethoven's approach to variations over Mozart's.

It's lovely but it has moments where it reminds me of late Beethoven variations (like from Op. 111).

Lovely, thank you! Brendel does, however, drive me crazy when he doesn’t play repeats unless he thinks they’re suitable. (Still, this was delightful.)
