Breaking: Man City and Chelsea 'preparing to quit European Super League'

There are major developments in football's European Super League story.

Boris Johnson has reportedly promised to drop what he called a "legislative bomb" to stop England's football clubs joining the planned European Super League.

The Prime Minister's apparent pledge to change the law to thwart the plans is the latest salvo in an increasingly bitter war of words.

Salary cap, 50+1, homegrown rule should fully utilised within UEFA, to prevent such future ideas such as ESL out of the window.

Back before the premier league club owners expected to lose money, they owned clubs because either they loved the club, or as a way to dodge tax, usually both. Billionaires have some nerve whinging about not making money when stock prices have gone through the roof, along with all the prestige from owning such a high profile club affords them.
