Occupation of Shusha city
On the night of May 8, 1992, Armenian military units attacked the city of Shusha with the help of military personnel of the former Soviet Army's 366th regiment and 40 armored vehicles. The city was occupied after long-lasting artillery fire and unequal bloody battles.
Shusha was plunged into death as a result of occupation. The armed forces of Armenia, which all the world and international organizations recognize as occupiers, have resorted to the most brutal crimes to eradicate and forget the traces of the Azerbaijani people in this city. Destroy valuable historical monuments of Shusha, the capital of the Karabakh khanate, destroy its national architecture and try to rebuild it as they want. Rare historical-architectural buildings, ancient monuments, places of worship, dwelling buildings, even the ruins of ruined museums and libraries have been plundered by museums, where the so-called "paradise of Caucasus" has become ruined.

        As a result of the occupation of Shusha, 195 Azerbaijani citizens were killed in the city with special cruelty, 165 were wounded, 150 of them were disabled, 552 were lost to their parents, and more than 20,000 left their homes and became IDPs. There is no information about the fate of 58 Azerbaijanis taken hostage and hostage.
