The biggest compliment i can pay Marc Bolan and T Rex is that 50 years on from his peak there is literally no other artist that sounds like him, literally unique.

45 years later…”Bang a Gong” is one of my most favourite tunes. It’s strange to think that had he still been alive, he would still be younger than Mick Jagger and probably out there performing all his hits at Glastonbury as the headliner. RIP Marc.❤️

What a handsome man he was and a great singer, I remember my older brother of 15 had posters of him all over his bedroom wall, he cried so much when Marc died, it was so sad.

I lived just round the corner to this memorial for a couple of years in around 2012 and it was continuously visited by people leaving trinkets, photos, memorial messages or just paying respects. At the anniversary of his death there would be an abundance of memoribilia, flowers and items laid around. There was never a time when you felt it was getting less significant which really brought home to me the importance and love of Marc Bolan the character and his music. Living there I drove over that bridge many a time and I could see how you could easily lose control if going at some speed, especially in a small car like a mini. Marc Bolan never learned to drive since apparently, he had a fear that he would die in a car! Taken long before his

Very respectful and well presented as usual Paul. Remember Bolan's tracks played by my parents when I was young. It seemed like the sun always shined..

Thank you, you did a really nice job with this video. It's a lovely tribute. I think Marc would like that the crash site, despite being the scene of the tragedy - has been maintained as a beautiful place of remembrance. It isn't a sad, depressing place - it's actually serene. It's no longer the dark place where Marc died, it's now a garden in which to celebrate that he lived. If any trace of Marc's spirit still remains there, I'm sure he appreciates the care that has been put into the memorial - and all the visitors! :)
I like to think he knows how much people miss him still. He had a short life, but he certainly made an impression. He is still very much loved.

Great video, Ive always wanted to go and pay my respects at the memorial. I still play his music regularly, favourite has always been MetalGuru. My very first day at work aged 16 I wanted to create a business-like impression and walk into my new place with a newspaper and just sat on the bus absolutely shocked reading the headlines that Marc had died. Only a month before sitting on a beach in Spain on my very last holiday with my parents I had read that Elvis had died so a bad couple of months. Im 61 now and still play Metalguru, Hot Love, Jeepster, Get It On etc regularly. Timeless music created by the wonderfully talented Marc

I was a big T. Rex fan in my junior school days. The first single I ever bought myself was Hot Love. I've still got my vinyls. My eldest daughter also loved listening to them. Bought her a T. Shirt recently with The Slider motif on the front. She wears it with pride.

Another fantastic post Paul. Thank you.
I had just turned 12 years old a few days before Marc was tragically killed. We were in class and one of my friends came into the classroom to tell us Marc had died. I always liked him as a kid and still do as an adult. I loved his songs and I loved his kids TV show too. He was very cool. A genius I would also say. Taken far to early. RIP Marc .

Taken too soon, I lived in Putney just off the lower Richmond road just up from where the crash was, I remember watching his show on tv, everything so vivid just like it was yesterday.
