This is an unforgettable and most compelling script and performance by Anthony Hopkins. He is always one of the most remarkable actors in the history of film. But in this role, he totally erased himself, and overtook the character's soul beyond anything I have ever seen. I was overcome with so much pain watching him escalate this character's anguish to the point that I totally forgot this was a film. Bless this wonderful Actor. He is a master and this film is a masterpiece on dementia.

The whole movie from start to finish is Anthony in the care facility. He is their the whole movie but he thinks he is back at his flat. In the last scene in the movie, the room he is in looks the same as the flat he lived and slept in. Put two screens on of one of his room at his flat and the room at the care facility. It is exactly the same type of room but set up sighlty different. Check it out. There is much more to this movie but this is a good start.

Once you see this movie, it’ll make you forget about Venom 2 at least for a brief amount of time. “The Father” is the best movie I’ve seen this decade, and will remain as one of the best by the end of this decade.
