Protesters clad in black marched in Hong Kong on Sunday, June 16, demanding that the city's leader steps down over her handling of a bill that would have allowed extradition to mainland China for trial. Organizers said almost 2 million turned out to demand the resignation of chief executive Carrie Lam, forming a sea of black along roads, walkways and train stations across Hong Kong's financial center. Lam apologized for the way the government had handled the draft law on Sunday evening.

Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong on Monday joined the thousands of protesters gathered near the territory's government headquarters after his release from prison. Wong was one of the leaders of the 2014 Umbrella Movement and had spent two months in prison on charges related to those protests.

More loss of freedoms! So this is just one of the things the people of Hong Kong want to avoid! I”M CONFUSED! The Chinese must be going crazy with all this CCP government intervention into everyone’s lives and especially the 20, 000, 000 Muslims in China! Arabic is now a must-learn language in China. Chinese university students see Arabic as a gateway to better career prospects. Dr. Lin Feng Min, Director of the Arabic Department of Peking University, teaches students Arabic. When Luo Zi Wei was deciding what language to study, Spanish was the most popular language course at her university and Arabic the least popular. But the week before she made her decision the Arabic lecturer gave a passionate speech listing the benefits of learning the language: good job prospects and the challenge of studying the hardest language in the world. Luo was persuaded. That was five years ago. Now she is part of a growing number of young Chinese who are choosing Arabic as the foreign language to study at university. According to Lin Feng Min, the director of the Arabic department at Peking University's language school, they have had to print 20 per cent more national test papers in the last three years, indicating a commensurate rise in the number studying Arabic. NOW READ THIS: China orders Arabic, Muslim symbols taken down in Beijing. BEIJING: Authorities in the Chinese capital have ordered halal restaurants and food stalls to remove Arabic script and symbols associated with Islam from their signs, part of an expanding national effort to "Sinicize" its Muslim population.
Employees at 11 restaurants and shops in Beijing selling halal products and visited by Reuters in recent days said officials had told them to remove images associated with Islam, such as the crescent moon and the word "halal" written in Arabic, from signs. Government workers from various offices told one manager of a Beijing noodle shop to cover up the "halal" in Arabic on his shop's sign, and then watched him do it. “They said this is foreign culture and you should use more Chinese culture, " said the manager, who, like all restaurant owners and employees who spoke to Reuters, declined to give his name due to the sensitivity of the issue. The campaign against Arabic script and Islamic images marks a new phase of a drive that has gained momentum since 2016, aimed at ensuring religions conform with mainstream Chinese culture. The campaign has included. the removal of Middle Eastern-style domes on many mosques around the country in favor of Chinese-style pagodas. China, home to 20 million Muslims, officially guarantees freedom of religion, but the government has campaigned to bring the faithful into line with Communist Party ideology. So which is it? Lean Arabic or cast it aside as an evil thing?....I’m confused! I’m thinking the right hand of the CCP doesn’t know what the left hand is doing!....can you imagine denying ethnic groups around the world their ability to use their language to describe who they are? Imagine if all Chinese restaurants in North America had 24 hours to take down or cover up their Chinese Characters because they weren’t “Western how disgusting the CCP IS WITH THEIR LATEST CONTROL TACTICS! No wonder the folks in Hong Kong are pissed at having their rights and privileges taken away!

Well, it's a multilevel game right now.

Xi Jinping is trying to strengthen his hand going into meeting with Donald Trump, if there is a formal meeting in Japan at the end of June, by visiting Putin twice in Central Asia and St. Petersburg. And now he is scheduled to visit later this week to North Korea.

He wants to be the player that comes with lots of allies and lots of cards to put on the table before he meets with Trump. And at the same time, if he goes too far, he may alienate the U.S. and put China into a more difficult economic vice, as the trade tariffs are magnified by a large extent in the aftermath of a failed meeting.

So he's kind of got to find a balancing point. It's been summarized in party official documents just this past weekend, where they say, on the one hand, we're not afraid to fight Ike, go to Korea, fight the Americans in the world, in the Korean War. On the other side — other hand, we're not afraid to bargain and to make the necessary compromises.

So he's trying to strike a balanced position. And all of these elements come into it. Hong Kong blowing up wouldn't have been helpful for his purposes, and in these circumstances.

Former IDF chief, says America doesn't have enough capability to fight two midsize wars or one large one. Gave illustration, the 3 months the US spent trying to liberate Kuwait strained their military past capacity. Outright said, America would lose a war with Iran. Couldn't even beat Syria or Yemen. Iran is 10Xs the size and more outfitted and organized.

America hasn't won a war in 100 years. Also, what he said explains why Usraeli keeps running every time Russia or China shows up like in Venezuela. They have no ability too fight a war and win.
