I've replaced my warn out over charged Li batts with new cheap ones from tee moo and only had to buy one new tool. a $16 dollar mini spot welder. Makita is so repair friendly as hey even have the batt case screwed together with 4 screws.
It all comes apart easily. Oh, you will need some extra strips of Ni for the new batt attachments.
I first got experience working on making batt packs for my electric scooter. I built an extra matching batt pack for increased distance and power.
In the Makita batt pack, the board comes out easily.
Make sure that you align your new batts in the right configuration.
AND make sure that you insulate all the connections.

This is legit. The only thing I’ve heard is buying an off brand makita charger can work because it ignores the lock but I’m over it. New kit new batteries new me ;)
