I had commented I was going to a tertiary epilepsy centre-hospital to get more info about my seizures. Well I’m still here and guess what after 24 years of seizures and back and forth mistreatment of being thought they weren’t real or psychogenic with the aid of the eeg and monitoring for a longer period of time they finally observed some changes and I was diagnosed with primarily generalised epilepsy on the 11th July of 2023, a week and 4 days after my birthday. You don’t know how hard and relieving all at the same time it has felt to finally have an answer after all these years and I can be on a medication that hopefully will control them and I don’t almost die as I almost did 2x (went into status epilepticus and had to be induced into a coma). Thanks for all the info and videos really enjoy the info and how you portray it in simple yet comprehensive format for everyone to understand ❤

My daughter (5years old) has lissencephaly, 17p13.3 deletion and sub cortical band heterotopia. She has failed many many medications. She had really really good control with just sodium valproate for a few months but they came back hard (5 hospitalisations in 2 weeks due to status epilepticus) they introduced vigabatrin, but I feel it is causing a massive increase in myoclonic jerks and absence (which she never used to have) to a point she’s having thousands of myoclonics throughout the day! Would you believe this is exacerbated by the introduction of vigabatrin?? We can’t get hold of her medical team and she is due an increase, but we don’t want to make things worse!

My congratulations. My doctor said that I take a drug, carbalex, which should not help with my diagnosis. Valproate is better. But in the presence of valproate and carbamazepine and, now, parampanel, I would not say that I feel as well as when I drank only carbalex 10 years ago. It is strange
