'Trade With China Grew Rapidly Between 2004-14': Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal during his one-on-one at the Raisina Dialogue 2023 on Saturday slammed the previous UPA governments for attracting more Chinese goods into the country. “After 2004 almost an outreach was done, to engage more with China, and to attract Chinese goods into the country in a big way. Between 2004 and 2014, we saw trade grow rapidly and the trade deficit went up by over 30 times,” Goyal said.

It's a reality we were literally sleeping in 2004 to 2014. Neither infrastructure got better nor exports rose nor military get strong.
The only thing that rose was poverty, terrorism, scams, and a feeling that we couldn't fight China anymore.
