True. Hades did not kidnap Persephone against her will. This makes him less of a villain than The Phantom of the Opera.

Hades was willing to give his wife equel position of power within the Underworld to the point even mortals didn't dare anger her even giving her a grove of all her favourite trees and plants to show his dedication to her

I appreciate this clip being made. :)

So tired of hearing people project their modern ideas on ancient stories and then dismiss them as barbaric. Hades didn't force Kore, he didn't trick her. In my analysis, she WANTED to grow up and become a woman, not remain a naive maid her whole life. I can't imagine she was THAT happy to be around her mom all the time. Hades' desire for Kore symbolizes a maid's transformation from young naive girl to mature and wise woman. It might have been frightening at first (hence why loads of people think it's r*pe, in addition to focusing on Demeter's reaction), but any young girl is surprised at transformation. Not just in physical maturity but gaining wisdom, which involves loss. Kore was willing to sacrifice naivety, virginity and motherly comforts for wisdom and strength. Hades actually empowered her and gave her independence. I can totally see her eating the pomegranate seeds to ensure she stays with her man, in order to seek further wisdom and power.
I wish more people could see that instead of barbarism.

Hades from the supergiant game is probably the best depiction of him in modern media
He has his stubborness and pride but he isn't evil or cruel and you get to see him change just a little bit throughout the game
Play Hades it's really good

Hades also doesn't go around sleeping with whatever human, godess, nymph, cows or engage in incest acts like his other two brothers

Ok didn't know that part with Persephone. Hades and Hephaistos seem to be the only loyal Husbands on Olympus as well.

I bet the people who ever called him cruel are those that lived wicked lives in life and got a glimpse of what awaited them when they died. Meanwhile average citizens are pretty much living a normal ordinary life in the underworld while truly good and heroic people are living lavish afterlives in a paradise in the Underworld.

One minor quibble: Persephone was tricked into eating the seed, she didn’t do it “willingly.” Hermes came down to rescue Persephone at the behest of her mother Demeter, and before he let her leave Hades convinced her to eat the seed, and that bound her to him. He wasn’t a kidnapper or a rapist, but she was definitely unwilling. It was an arranged marriage established by her father, and she (like all Ancient Greek women) just didn’t get a vote on the matter.

Hades is actually a sweet dude, but if anything, can the dead that’s in hell visit hades himself?

Hades is not even the god of the underworld. Underworld is given to posieden to rule but he's refused it and chose sea. Gradually, Hades decided to rule the underworld along with his wife persephone. Other interesting fact is that zeus advised Hades to kidnap persephone because persephone's mother wouldn't approve the marriage between her daughter and the God of underworld, so, Hades obeyed zeus advise.
