The unconventional life of Dr. William Marston, the Harvard psychologist and inventor who helped invent the modern lie detector test and created Wonder Woman in 1941. Marston was in a polyamorous relationship with his wife Elizabeth, a psychologist and inventor in her own right, and Olive Byrne, a former student who became an academic. This relationship was key to the creation of Wonder Woman, as Elizabeth and Olive's feminist ideals were ingrained in the character from her creation. Marston died of skin cancer in 1947, but Elizabeth and Olive remained a couple and raised their and Marston's children together. The film is said to focus on how Marston dealt with the controversy surrounding Wonder Woman's creation.

Interesting fact: Wonder Woman's cuffs were inspired by the bracelets the professor and his wife gave to Olive in lieu of wedding rings when they made the decision to become a long-term family!

Man, I am so glad they're showing that they actually were in a proud long term polyamorous relationship.

This is honestly one of the best films that I have ever seen.

So it's a movie about polygamy, possible bondage, and submission.

But people are only complaining because it isn't wonder woman, despite it actually being about wonder woman.

Why are people said the title of this movie is a clickbait ? Technically, IT IS about Wonder Woman

It's the story of the creator of Wonder Woman (and the lie detector), the women who inspired her and their unconventional secret lifestyle.

I like this because it further cements wonder woman as the important cultural icon that she is. She's probably the only famous character I can think of with such an interesting creation that deserves a movie. Apart from maybe a film about how Bob Kane and DC screwed Bill finger

People are now so obsessed with fiction that they forget the embodiments of reality. Comic is an art not a religion. Don't get so obsessed with it. Most of the commenters complaints about this movies being a clickbait is just immature. The history behind the story of what we now know as Wonder Woman is what this movie portrays. Don't just be an admirer of success, learn the secrets behind it. Grow up folks.

William and Elizabeth Marston's granddaughter, Christie Marston, criticized the film, saying the idea that Elizabeth and Olive Byrne were lovers was purely fictional. While clarifying that she was not offended by the notion and technically could not "swear" they had no such relationship, she explained that she had been a close, personal confidant of her grandmother's, and she could "say with 99.99% certainty that they did not." While her grandmother's views on sexuality were very progressive, her relationship with Olive had always unambiguously been one of close friendship and mutual dependence. She also noted that despite the film being promoted as a "true story", the family was never consulted for the film, nor did the director attempt to contact them.[17][18]

What a beautiful, moving, and super interesting movie. Don't understand how this film wasn't more famous. Very well crafted, great story telling, and was very refreshing to see a theme such as polyamorous relationships portrayed in such an organic, respectful, and endearing way. Claps for this masterpiece 👏

Guys, be careful what you wish for. Poly relationships take a lot of work, and not all turn out so great. Some underlying personality traits can tank what all three people think is perfect. Sometimes power struggles emerge, and it can turn nasty, someone can get permanently damaged in the end. Poly relationships can turn out wonderful, but all three have to be on the same page. If you are co-dependent, this isn't a good idea, boundaries have to be set.

I'm excited. A historical polyamorous relationship with the creators of one of the most iconic women in comics history? Good stuff.
