The secret to the success of all of Voice's releases so far is that he tells a conscious story that makes plenty sense in addition to having a nice melody and on point music production. This is what Calypso traditionally did during its "Golden Age" in the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's when it first went international and became the first music genre in the world to sell one million copies in album format..
When most of the other young soca artists go back to the storytelling tradition of calypso with great melodies then soca will have the international success in the mainstream music markets that it craves like its mother calypso had in its "Golden Age" when she laid down the musical path for her offspring to follow.
To this day Calypso is still more internationally known and respected than Soca and this will remain so until Soca music takes a leaf from its mother Calypso.
Bring back the conscious storytelling tradition in the music! This is at the core of what Voice is doing and we wish him every success!
