You hear people say, a good Gibson Les Paul, should sound like a fender Telecaster on steroids. So which one do you prefer back to back? #gibson #lespaul #fender #telecaster

My heart says tele, but my brain says both!

I am fortunate enough to own both and they are both my favourite. Just different days.

I’m more a humbucker guy but that tele is saying something to me

I like both for their own unique qualities. They're both really good guitars.

I like the punch and scream (or twang? idk) on Tele, but I like how Les Paul has more body on their tone too. Hard choice tho, maybe both..

That tele scream its tone, the best for me

The correct answer is tube amp head.

Telecaster are my fav tho. Just cooler twang, summer mids, screaming highs and way lighter weight wise.

In your hands they both sound incredible Mike, and as for the riff I would have to go with the Tele. It has just a little bit of brightness the riff really needs. Cheers from across the Pond!

Every time I think yeah I'm just a 100% humbuckers guy, or that the Telecaster might not be the ultimate guitar, I hear something like this and get reminded of the clarity, brightness, cut and rock and roll brilliance of the Tele tone. An overdriven Tele is the quintessential tone of electric guitar.

Tele can be bit challenging to play at start but the troubles are worth it. We have to play so control so much of our dynamics.

Well I love both of them but I prefer the Gibson les Paul

The Les Paul is just such a dad rock guitar, personally I'm not a fan, so I'd have to go with the tele, but if I could pick something that's not either of these I'd go for something like an ES-335, any hollow body, or a strat

I think most serious guitar players, or guitar players that have been playing for quite a few years, have a good variety of guitars, I've been playing for about 30 plus years and I currently have two FENDER STRATOCASTERS, a GIBSON/SG, a PRS SWAMP ASH SPECIAL & quite a few electric acoustics and acoustics, FENDERS, YAMAHAS
& MITCHELL, plus one UKULELE, I'VE bought, traded, sold a bunch of guitars and equipment throughout the years, I don't go nuts, but I like it I like the different sounds & looks of guitars. Just like people like to collect cars but a lot cheaper. My Gibson SG is a 2004 voodoo, great 4 when I did Halloween parties or gigs, I once had a 1993 MIJ TELLY I paid $350 in 94' new, probably my favorite guitar, really miss that one😢🎸😊

One of the members of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers was quoted saying, “You can do it all with one Fender and one Gibson.” If I had to choose one, I’d pick the Telecaster. I generally prefer sparkly cleans, which is easier to achieve with single coils pickups.

I don't have a 6 string and can't really hear the difference. But I love the Telecaster. I loved Jeff Beck amongst guitarists a he played many guitars.

Tele is the sleeper guitar for so many of us. It may take years, but eventually we all realize its the most versatile guitar model ever designed. The LP is a close second, it's at home almost anywhere, but for sheer durability and modularity, the tele takes it for me.

I have both, I'm definitely in the Fender camp, each has their different uses.

They're both great. The thing they have in common is that they're both better than Strats.

Both of them. Especially in my band where I play a Telecaster and another band mate plays a Les Paul. When our keyboard player picks up his acoustic and the three of us play it melts my brain...
