That mechanism is absolutely fucking ingenious with the way it uses the closing of the two arms as a locking mechanism to force the whole assembly to start rotating right as they close.

Lego has decided to release a technic garbage truck (42167) based similarly to the functions of this garbage truck. Obviously someone in lego saw this garbage truck.

This design remains one of my favorite lego vehicle mocs out there because of its functionality. It's a simple mechanism but genius in execution.

pretty much the same mechanism as in Akiyuki's "Catch & Spin" gbc module I think. Always gives me a twist in my brain. So amazing!

Dang, this set got 10, 000 supporters but wasn't approved. If it had, that would have been AMAZING because, well, it incorporates a simple LEGO Technic mechanism into a LEGO System set! Such a thing has become unheard of!
