Assassin Snail: Attacks and eats other snails!

Due to their preference for snail flesh, assassin snails are particularly sought after by owners of domestic marine environments. While they are the bane of every other snail species, they get along well with one another and cooperate to defeat larger snails. Assassin snails consume animal flesh. They are scavengers and members of a carnivorous group of snails.

Unlike many other varieties of snails, assassin snails are not hermaphrodites. They can be classified as either male or female. They appear same, making it tough to distinguish between the two. Assassin snails are bred by letting a group of them fight it out.

Because they don't consume aquatic vegetation and reproduce slowly so they don't become pests themselves, assassin snails are the perfect exterminator for pest snails.

Because of the color pattern on their shells, assassin snails are also known as bumblebee snails.
