For music lovers the first chord is Dmaj7 and I realized something cool learning a lot of Archie’s music on guitar. He puts that specific voicing of Dmaj7 in so many songs. It’s pretty apparent that it means a lot to him. For any musicians out there I bet you all can relate to finding that one chord that feels like home base when you pick up your instrument and just want to hear something you love. Brings on a specific emotion every time. Call it a comfort chord haha. It’s the opening of Dum Surfer, it’s the second chord of A Slide In, it’s part of the outro progression in La Lune. He plays a bunch of major 7’s up the neck but this one is always around. Always the same voicing too. It’s a very hopeful yet melancholic chord in my opinion and seems to be a foundation of a lot of his songwriting. Anyways, thought this is fun and I am curious if anyone else has noticed?

Was going through the issues of putting all of my emotional eggs in one basket now I'm realizing through this song the only person I should ever truly put on a pedestal is my son. Hes truly my everything and makes my life worth it. Even though he's 3 years old when I cry cause I make a mistake he still hugs me and smiles at me. i keep on returning here from time to time when I need to. 10 months ago me and the woman I considered to be the one and the love of my life left me without any rhyme or reason. just to focus on herself, even though we provided enough space for the both of us to grow. even before the break-up, this song was my best descriptor for my feelings towards her. she's love in my eyes, even now, given the way we grew and showed each other what it could be. this song is perfect, and it means the world to me. This was the first song i ever learned on guitar because i loved it so much at the time and i was hoping id get to play it for someone who really cares about and loves me for who i am... that was almost 10 months ago and i have yet to find anybody who cares about me enough to play this song to. I have gotten way better at guitar since then learning new songs everyday and really just overall improving myself but yet i still cant find anybody. Its one of if not my only problem that i face that affects me deeply but i cant seem to do anything about it. That being said the day i hopefully find this foretold person i will comeback to this video as a symbol for how hard ive worked the past 6 years of my life to find my first girlfriend. I love you future girlfriend, whoever you are.
