Despite the fact they lost. The Kraken played a very good first game. Coming back from a 3-0 deficit in the 2nd half of the game to tie the game on the road, in your first ever game as a franchise, AND against one of the projected best teams in the league. That's impressive. We got a great game to watch here on opening night! HOCKEY IS BACK

Absolutely insane that the last goal was counted. The only way it could’ve been a more obvious kick is he if he swapped his skates for a pair of cleats before he kicked it. Absolutely terrible call.

Kraken got jobbed on the kicked in goal. Scorer directed his skate blade towards the goal as the puck hit his blade. That's a obvious kick.

That was a kicked in goal. The motion he made after the puck deflected off his skate blade is a kicking motion and in slow mo it looks like it's after thr puck deflects but it's not. Horrible ruling

That shouldn’t be a goal. That’s a damn kicking motion. You can clearly see him kick the puck into the net with his foot.

The ESPN RUSH segment where the announcers didn't speak and they let the game sounds play was beautiful.

A that's kicking motion all day. His skate lifted up and forward, plain as day, even with video evidence the NHL still can't get it right. Psh! Unreal

May have lost, but Seattle put up a great fight versus an assumed cup contender! Really hoping they continue playing like this, so they should make playoffs their first season which would be great for an expansion team!

What a barn burner this game just was! I'm so glad about what I just witnessed! Honestly, both teams played their hearts out and this game didn't deserve a loser.... As a VGK fan, I'm proud and excited that my team won, the Kraken are a prosperous team though and they have a great chance at making the playoffs in their 1st year just as VGK did 4 years ago! The Kraken showed tonight that they deserve being the 32nd team of the NHL.... Oh boy is this season gonna be fun! Welcome to the NHL Seattle Kraken, I'm already looking forward to the next game between VGK and you....

By the way, Vegas has been a bad place for Grubauer since he left the Capitals, he'll be fine in Seattle though 😉

Seattle has played 1 game and they are already experiencing the Vegas Golden Refs, didn't take long at all.

For anyone thinking that was a kick, he redirected his skate so it would bounce and go in, you are allowed to angle your skate, there is a difference in a kick and a deflection. Even if it was a kick vegas probably would have ended them in OT.

I’m not much of a hockey fan, but I definitely was interested to see how the newly added Kraken team would do in their first game. Not bad at all!
