The only one I've ever seen use a square reflector in a teardrop light is Star/SVP. The original SVP-1166 was a much better light that used a larger ROUND reflector and rotated more slowly than this one and used a 50-watt halogen bulb with an old style 'bayonet' base. The old teardrop rotating lights were seriously bright, reliable with a simple design.

It wont damage the cord if it is shut in the door of my truck will it? I will probably mount it on top and if its raining or cold I will want to shut it in the door.
thanks for responding by the way.

Normally there should be no problem; my mag-mount light has been mounted for over two years that way. Since the doors have gaskets, the cord won't get jammed. But: if it's raining heavily, water may get into your car and and trickle down the cord because the door gasket won't seal 100 % at the spot where the cable comes in. Last thing to consider: only put magnet-mounted lights on a vehicle in motion when you can be absolutely sure it won't fly off, it's at your own risk in the end.

That looks like a SHO-ME teardrop.  Does it have a black plastic base?  Check out my videos, I believe that I have the same one.  It was one of their last teardrop beacons that were produced, as the new plastic rectangular reflector replaced the older style metal round reflector.

Yes, the lights are reliable and have a good-
light during the day.
