Whats going on YouTube? In this tutorial I show you how you can make a random name generator in microsoft excel from a list of names, where all you have to do is click a button and a new random name will be generated. To do this, you have to use a randbetween funtion inside of a choose function that will search through the list of random names. Then, you record a basic macro that will run the function, insert a button, and attach the basic macro to the button. Then you can link the cell with the formula to a shape, and hide the list of random names. Doing this makes it looks like whenever you click the button, a new random name will appear in the list. Hi, thank you for this video! I followed every step until the end. When I created the button, it wouldn't generate the names for me. I did record my macro and nothing happened with the button. How do I fix this? Names would only generate when I click on "Calculate Now" instead of pressing the button

Hello how about if total number of list is not define? Is there a way to not tweak the code each time if the total number of list of names is decreased/increased? Thanks!

Hey. I just did what you did, but now whenever I type something into a cell, it randomly generates a name without pressing the button. I have no clue why that is.
