I'm currently watching the shadowhunters series for the first time and when I realized that Raphael was an asexual made me really happy. As an romantic asexual myself is really strange seing a asexual character explicitely and this made my day😍💝. Also, he is one of my favourite characters and one of my fictional crushes so...😊💞

This makes my little ace heart so happy. I always felt like I needed sex to be “complete”, I tried to force myself to want sex like everyone else seemed to. Society places such importance on sex while somehow simultaneously not educating people on it, especially the facets of sexuality and how not everyone desires it. I finally accepted that this is just how I am, and I don’t need sex to be “complete”. Because, yeah, this is me.

I just watched this video about asexual representation and they played this clip. That interpretation never occurred to me when I was watching the show - I can't believe I missed it! Just goes to show how much you miss out on when you're locked into your own worldview. Pretty cool :)

Yes Raphael is asexual, and I couldn't be happier that this sexuality gets representation, also to make it even more clear being asexual means that you don't feel sexual attraction to any gender but you can be capable of love, a relationship just without sex ( kissing doesn't necessarily count)

This was very surprising to be honest Raphael admitting that he asexual really caught me off guard but not in a bad way. It’s nice seeing asexual representation. (Now we just need transgender and demisexual representation.)
