I stream Deep Rock Galactic four days per week, normally hazard 5 missions!
I'm very chatty and will answer any other questions you might have about DRG. Hope to see you there!
Schedule - Mon-Tues, Thurs-Fri 00:00 UTC (local time: 7:00 PM EST) - I occasionally stream Saturdays at around 18:00 UTC (local time: 1:00 PM EST)

Just ask your friendly neighborhood dwarf to catch you. As long as you land on another dwarf's head, you'll bounce off and avoid fall damage. Just make sure you know who's moving to catch who, because if you both start shuffling around, you're probably going to miss.

(Note: Insurance does not cover broken necks or shattered skulls as a result of trying to catch a scout falling at terminal velocity with your face.)

There's also ledge-grabbing, landing on teammates, landing on large enemies, grabbing onto zip-lines, and grinding on pipes
(the fall velocity will turn into grind-velocity as well!)

“YOU HAVE A GRAPPLING HOOK, JUST USE IT PLEASE”

The driller main after I tell him I’m gonna die from fall damage if I try to get down.

Since people already mentioned snow, the goop in fungus bogs also will soften your landing.

If you mod your grappling hook right, you can charge it up before you hit the ground in most cases

Friendly reminder: if your gunner has the perk on their zipline that lowers fall damage when you detach, getting on and off it once will give you that fall dmg reduction for the entire mission!

I want the hoverclock and special powder to completely forget about them and die anyways.

i run literally all of these as scout, and it makes me an actual demigod of movement.
hoverboots for hanging mid-air on hard-to-reach mineral veins
hoverclock to save me from falls
and special powder for SPEED and also boosts up to grapple to ceilings or high walls

the things i can do with all three combined have made me never want to go back. it feels like a totally different class now

They've saved me more than anything else lmao

Grapple (with max cooldown) -> hover boots -> power attack wall -> up to three regular pickaxe hits to make a second hole next to the power attack hole -> grapple into hole. Let's you get onto any shear wall in any terrain without the use of plats. Hence, I run hoverboots on all scout builds

Vaulting always works too. Takes a lot more practice, but you can almost always find a way to save yourself. You can also just get better at grappling lol

If you ever played tf2, special powder is basically the force a nature for scout

Playing Scout with Rich Amosphere (or Low Grav), Hover Clock, Special Powder, Hover Boots, and Jet Boots turns the game into either an insane movement shooter or a flight simulator

Although it is pretty rare, the overclock for scouts shotgun that allows you to shotgun jump is also very good at preventing fall damage

save a hanging scoot by standing under them. Also use ledges. The climb animation cancels your fall damage

If im playing enginner and i see a gunner or scout and nitra, by the time they've grappled to the nitra, ive sent a platform over and had it sitting underneath. Also rock the cushion platforms for that little bit of aid when im falling.
