I feel the need to mention to anyone watching, that the chad chin on the Homotherium is not there because it needed a huge chin to cover its teeth. It would actually look like a cat with regular teeth when its mouth was closed (look to the clouded leopard for an example of a cat with long teeth, it looks normal when closed) but the mummy we found recently has a small beard on its chin. It was only a baby so we don't know how the beard would look as an adult, if it would even stay at all, but it has led to reconstructions of bearded Homotherium being very common.
