On my second watch I have come to appreciate just what an epic, cinematic score this guy put to this show. So full of bass and swirling themes. Giacchino did something similar with his Medal of Honour game themes before going onto Star Trek. Just beautiful.

I'm actually really upset that the soundtrack to Season One is NOT on YouTube Music anymore. Seasons Two and Three are, which is great, but I loved ALL the music from this series - some of the best music written for a sci-fi show ever, up there with any sweeping and epic cinema score, and I wanna listen to the whole thing! Ugh...

I heard a story somewhere told by Mr Rydel about him calling John Wayne down for something and fearing that John Wayne would fire him or have him replaced as director and John Wayne instead apologized. I’m pretty sure that I’ve heard or read that story somewhere and I hope I’m not butchering it in this comment. I think Mr Rydel recounted that story in the bonus sections of one of my The Cowboys DVDs that I’ve worn out over the years. I think I heard in this clips that John Williams composed the music and guessing that was Johnny Williams aka Lost in Space theme composer. Wonderful script, wonderful acting beautiful score and just the best scenery and cinematography. I was interested to learn that the Wil Anderson ranch house was near Santa Fe but as a kid, I always wondered how Wil Anderson had any cattle on that barren piece of land around the cabin. Looked like slim pickins on grazing to me.
