This was my first distortion pedal as a kid. The footswitch broke and me, being a dumb kid, threw it away because I didn't know it could be repaired. Believe me, I kick myself every day for doing that. If I ever find one that's affordable, I will buy it.

Just discovred the circuit in the packrat by JHS and absolutely loving it. According to your dynamic of playing, it will go from warm overdrive to full on fuzz. my to go distortion sound at the moment !

I had a Brat when they first came out. I was using a DS-1 & was looking for a different tone for certain tunes, it didn't quite hit the mark for me & I eventually got a RAT which I still have & the Brat was traded for something else. Obviously now I wish I had kept but as you said we had no idea these things would be sought after back then.

So it's basically just a rat with added soft clipping diodes. Those diodes lower the gain so that the opamp and hard clipping diodes don't clip/distort as much

If noon on all 3 knobs is actually at three pm, I would put in different values on the resistors.

it's just a proco sound low cost pedal that's most of the components are made of plastic such as the knobs, the foot switch or the jacks inputs, and what about the enclosure compare to a regular proco rat....

What was with all the pink in the 90’s ??? my ART processors had it and the ultrafoot X15 I had was covered in pink splatter style paint 🤣. When I ordered some parts for it the guy from tech support said, which one do you have? I told him the one with all the pink paint on it...He said they all had that what’s the display say when you power it up 😂

Somebody gave me one of these years and years ago. I thought it was a knockoff of a Rat and gave it away to someone else. I had no idea what I had.
