CLAS AI Workshop: Ethics and Fairness in Artificial Intelligence

In light of the University of Florida's $70 million artificial intelligence partnership with NVIDIA, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences presented the first in a series of virtual workshops focused on machine learning in Fall 2020.

On September 22, 2020, Dr. Duncan Purves of the Department of Philosophy, used real-world examples to discuss some of the core ethical issues facing data science today.

um, uh, uh, um. . . The hypocrisy of a college prof, who works for a PUBLIC university that accepted $70 million from a PRIVATE company to then push the company's products on the entire university student body, drone on and on about ETHICS is not lost on me.
