Pink Roses Demo | Loose Floral Watercolor | Full Painting Process

Paint some pink roses with me :)

Materials used…

•Paper- Legion Stonehenge Aqua Hotpress watercolor paper
•Brush- Princeton brush Neptune series round brush size 8
•Paint- Permanent Rose (Winsor and Newton Cotman) and hooker’s green deep (Grumbacher)

All I can say is WOW. Would this be called reverse painting? I really love your technique. Are you self taught? I've watched many videos and no one to my knowledge has done this. My roses look like blobs too. I may get a nice one every 5 I do. I will have to give it a shot. I have trouble knowing where to put the pedals. I'm going to look at the rest of your videos. I will try to spread your name. You deserve more subscribers. Thank for sharing.

Wow, I've never seen this technique before. This is basically the opposite of about 90% of the loose rose tutorials on here. Most start with darks in the center, and add water. I always add too much water. I've only just started painting a few months ago.

I'm going to try this tomorrow. The best part is I can use this method to salvage other styles of roses if I add too much water! I can just add even more and turn it into an underpainting like this.
