Hi Rino!
The disabling inactive widgets is a very nice feature.
My method:
1. create a page with your favorite widgets. just drop them under each other without settings
2. export as a template
3. import on a new website
4. turn off unused widgets
5 delete the imported page.
;)

You should be able to turn them on and off from the actual builder. It would be nice if you could see them even if they are turned off. They should be grey so that you are your clients know what is there if you wanna turn it on. Shoudln't be that hard to implement this feature. I'd imagine that you'd have to reload the page builder to update changes and that is probably why they chose to just put everyting in the settings menus. It's a shame though that they are so hidden when turned off. It makes me not wanna turn them off....

If it ain’t funny it would be tragic! Elementor is driven by jQuery and JS vanilla mix. A pure horror. Moreover, it is a plugin, not a theme, it takes a different route in WP and then ends up being a quasi theme. More features make it even slower. Complex layouts take up to a gig of RAM in browser which is unbelievable. Ele is perfect for a small/mini/basic website. The simpler, the better. Anything bigger require a serious tool such as Bricks Builder or Divi.

Nice information...
As for widgets/elements, i use a plug-in called "which elementor addon". It helps identify which widget from which elementor plugin has been used on a page, by hovering mouse on it

I had to use the video playlist last week. The client wanted all his YouTube videos in a one page site. It's not that bad but I don't think I'll ever need to use it again. 😅

Thank you for getting me into page building but as i grew as a wordpress developer, i started to understand things a little bit more, i found out that elementor bloats the DOM but thank God i found Bricks. Anyway, thanks again but please consider switching.

They say its already on, that unused widgets do not load if not used. But the Js and Css is still loaded on pages, for example swiper and other stuff. Even Jet Js and CSS is loaded on pages that isn't using specific widgets.

Hey Rino, thanks for everything you do. I had a small query I have been struggling with for months and I hope you can help. I want my post nav widget on my single post template, to show posts from only one specific category (not all categories) what can I do to make that happen ? Please help

Just an observation, if anyone hasn't made here before: Improved CSS Loading might cause issues and is often recommended to be deactivated when troubleshooting some of them.

Turns out disabling it was the solution for some of the issues I've run through, specially with the Elementor's Mega Menu Widget (considering I haven't tested it again since Eleementor's version 3.16, so can't tell how it is performing now and I won't risk testing it again in a while).

P.S.: Keep up the good work, Rino!
Cheers!

A good feature would be able to export Widget Manager settings to another site. Also, it would be great that if we turn them off it will give us a warning.

3.18.1 caused a lot of my clients websites to go down for some reason! I had to rollback to fix it

5:30 But don't you usually just install your whole setup with all your settings? What I do for client sites.

Hey Rino, about site speed, I'm wondering what is the best practice with images : should I compress them before adding them in the media library? or is it okay to upload images that are often several mbytes and then use a smaller resolution in the elementor option of the image?

They should push an update that just doesn't load inactive widgets on the front end... at all. We shouldn't need to manually choose which ones to not load on the front end, why would we want unused widgets loading on the front end?
