Whittaker Family Still Lives In Filth Despite Receiving A Lot Of Money

Many of us have watched Mark Laita visit and document the Whittaker family over the years. Many of us have donated to the Go Fund Me for the Whittaker family. And we've seen Mark Laita help them by taking them out for fun times and shopping. But, despite the money and help they've received, their living conditions have not improved much. In fact, in terms of filth, they seem to have gotten worse.

According to Mark, when they requested it, the money was given to the more able-bodied members of the family, such as Betty and Larry - the ones who 'take care' of Ray, Lorraine, and Timmy.

The money was supposed to be saved for a new home, but, technically, it's their money, so Mark felt obliged to give them the money when they asked for it. He didn't know where the money was going - whether it was used to help feed someone's addiction or elsewhere. He just gave them the money they asked for.

Questions for you:

Will the Whittakers ever be able to improve their lives or will they maintain this quality of life for the rest of their lives?

Should the Whittakers have been spending the money more wisely?

Should they have been saving it?

Should they have been using it for better care for Ray, Lorraine, and Timmy?

Or is it their prerogative how they use it?

What do you think about the situation and how Ray, Lorraine, and Timmy are forced to live because they really don't have the ability to change anything or make better decisions for the family?

What started out as a beautiful thing has sadly been destroyed by the higher functioning members of the family who do drugs. Betty is not strong enough to say no. and BJ recently informed Mark her dad was dead to get money for drugs. I think Mark is a good man. This family has been helped enough in my opinion. I do really feel for Lorraine, Timmy and Ray.

I think Betty is taking advantage of Mark. It’s very sad to see the three of them still living the way they do with no choice in the matter because the more capable people are not using their gifts wisely.

It gets to a point that you can only help, show them a new direction. Mark you have done an outstanding job in attempting to help them. But time to cut the financial cord

I had a lot of hope for their lives when we first saw them, but with Betty in charge and other family member's taking advantage, that hope has disappeared. It's obvious this home is where they will be unless someone literally buys a home for them and moves them in. Even then, they would need someone to come in and clean and keep things organized because Betty's habits won't suddenly change. Mark tried. There's only so much he can do.

They are happy and yes there way of living is not what most people think fit but they have survived like this a long time, Mark has done a lot for the family and should be applauded for that .

Even if they lived in a palace..it would end up in a mess...through no fault of their own this is the way they have always lived..sadly they know no better..but at least they seem happy ❤

Thank you badhumanbehavior for uploading this. These people don't understand cleanliness it's not their fault. The money went to BJ for drugs. Lost cause. They are happy living the way they live. That is all they know.
