You should always turn your pre amp on first, let it warm up, then turn your power amp on afterwards. This avoids the chance of any type of surge damaging your power amp. Turn them off in reverse order... and if you're real fussy you should allow about 30 seconds for the power amps capacitors to drain before switching off the pre.
