Reading all of Different Seasons every summer has become an annual tradition for me. It's the best King collection ever.

I read IT in the summer the first time I read it and those kids in the Barrens were my world back then. Wish I could go back and experience it again for the first time!

I read IT for the first time from roughly late April till July so in my opinion perfect timing with the opening scene being rainy and then sure enough finishing in July was perfect. It was a fantastic read and whenever it comes to Summer time I get such a nostalgic feeling about the first time reading it, last summer I dedicated a bike ride everyday to listen to the audio book! Really makes you realize how similar your own town is to Derry!

Love your choices! Here in the U.S., we consider Labor Day Weekend "the end of Summer."

I would add "Mrs. Todd's Shortcut" to the reading list. I first read it in the middle of a hot summer on the outskirts of a small Kansas town in my delivery truck waiting for my customer to show up. I had the windows of the truck open and was reading the story when I got to thinking about other dimensions and I leaned out the window, looked up at the vast blue Kansas sky and thought: "You know, a hole from another dimension could open up in the sky and a hand could reach down and pick me up and nobody would ever know." I glanced around. Yup. There was nobody around. I rolled up the windows.

Sitting uncomfortablly hot and bored as a kid in a stuffy Ford Escort, stuck in traffic for hours trying to get to Cornwall for the summer holiday... if I'd have had Cujo at hand to read, it may have sent me over the edge!

GreAt video. I just finished Joyland and came here trying to find another King’s novel. Glad I found this video.

I would add Gerald's Game. Read it at the beach and had to take breaks ...intense!

One story that comes to mind is "Drunken Fireworks" or "The Mist", different seasons does feel Summer but Breathing Method is def Winter. Cheers 🍻 Great video!

Thanks for these suggestions. I've just started with Stephen King in excited to spend a lot of the summer reading in my hammock. After I finish 11/22/63 I'm going to go with these suggestions, starting with It.

Great choices! I would have added both Bag of Bones and Duma Key. Although Duma Key isn’t set in the summer months, the beach and the islands of the Florida Keys feature so prominently that it makes for the perfect summer vacation read. I myself picked it up in a bookstore in an island beach town of the Northeast American Seacoast, while on vacation, and it felt like the perfect book to read in a beach house rental.

Different seasons, It and Joyland spring to mind. All brilliant. Good video.

I’m about to start Cujo, should be interesting. Maybe I’ll edit as I read along. I’ve always heard it had a messed up ending so.. I’m definitely intrigued
