In this video, I will explain you about , how you can draw the projection of square pyramid's axis incline to both the planes.
This is the seventh video lecture on solid's axis inclined to the both the principle plane.
The given problem is
A square pyramid of base 40 mm side and axis 70 mm long has one of its triangular face on the ground. A vertical plane containing axis inclined at 45º to the V.P. Draw its projections when the apex is nearer to the V.P. than the base.
Solution part:
Stage 1:
If a pyramid has to be placed on one of its triangular face on HP , obviously axis will be inclined to the H.P. As the axis is inclined to the HP, assume initially it is perpendicular to the H.P. then pyramid be place with its base on HP.
Draw TV and FV of the pyramid
Stage 2:
Tilt the FV so that the triangular face on HP. Project the second top view.
Stage 3:Tilt the second top view so that the vertical plane containing the axis makes an angle 45 degrees to the V.P. and draw the corresponding FV. This is the final view of the pyramid with the required conditions satisfied.
