This short video looks at the rapid growth of the Chinese economy and considers how much progress China has made in lifting her relative living standards? One measure is to compare a country's GDP per capita (PPP adjusted) to that of the United States. Using this metric, whilst China is now the largest country in the world, relative per capita income is unlikely to reach 30% of the US level by 2019.
