EASILY CLAIM the victory. 50.02 is a JOG for Femke. It is a long season. No need to run for World Record times. Femke competes constantly in races throughout the year. People here don't understand this and think that track stars should always run 100% or 110% to go after WR times. That's not smart. This is a seasonal marathon. Femke has to pace herself.

This was an EASY run for Bol look at 0:27 how Bol passes Mawdsley. Bols stride is relaxed and much longer, and she hardly uses her arms. Bol is coasting there while Mawdsley is working. Also after the finish Bol isn't even winded. This was a low stress low intensity WIN for Bol.

I've never seen a runner who runs as calm as Bol does. It's impossible to tell when she really is exerting herself. We won't see her best until the Olympics. Maybe it'll be enough to beat Sydney, maybe not. She's still peaking so no one can know with any degree of certainty. For those who do "know", let me ask you: Have you ever been wrong before? I like both and think they'll bring out the best in each other.

I can't disrespect F. Bol as an athlete because she's absolutely amazing, but she was born in the same generation as S. McLaughlin and I'm not seeing enough from Bol this season to change my mind on Syd's advantage over her in the 400m or 400H. If Bol race 200m before Paris somewhere and does something impressive i.e. sub 22.00 then I'll say something more favorable for Bol. Syd looks like she's ready to set another WR in Paris by the way she looked at the U.S. Olympic Trials a couple of weeks ago setting a WR there!!!
