Nintendo buying that studio for assisting with ports to their platform… That’s an intelligent move. Hogwarts Legacy was basically a really good resume.

You gotta be a special kind of special to willingly download that Recall program onto your pc 😂

I'm fed up with Microsoft trying to shove their copilot AI down my throat every single time I turn my PC on. Im still on Windows 10 and the thing is infuriatingly intrusive. I don't want it nor I need it, at least not for the foreseeable future.

It’s rare seeing Nintendo do acquisitions, but they make the most out of each one. They don’t buy things just to buy it, they usually have a clear purpose and Nintendo maximizes the new subsidiary’s potential. Unlike others in the industry…

I do not want a program recording what I do on my computer. No way.

Embracer must have had a low-key garage sale and Shiver was on that table in the corner in the back nobody ever wanted to check on until Nintendo was flipping through stuff and they were like, "How much?" and Embracer was like... "Make me an offer"

Am i the only one that would prefer developers to focus on quality gameplay than 4k?

AI will definitely infringe on your privacy 100%

I think that Nintendo is definitely going to use Shiver to get more 3rd-Party ports on their consoles more easily and to butter up said third-parties to make them more calm about investing time into big modern day releases coming day and date with other platforms

Couple friends have been looking into Recall, it's very creepy. MS say it's all local, on machine, yet has callbacks to their systems coded in. Bad actors can do some pretty bad stuff with this new angle of attack. Glad I switched to Linux.

wow... imagine working at Shiver then suddenly becoming Nintendo employees. Good for them!

I remember when some older games would have six or seven splash screens, for havoc etc. and here's sakurai being an absolute legend, saying nah bro we don't want that in our game!

Ok, just one word away from Total Recall.

That AI is so useless, its just there to data harvest so they can make more money. We had manuals and in game tutorials which would describe items and the basics of UIs, we also had save states that we could revert to, all of those are far better than AI but for some reason games dont offer them now. If they gave us digital manuals and better in game tutorials we could replay then people wouldnt feel lost in games. Dont fall for these anti consumer features people.

I am happy for the folks at Shiver. They can breathe a little easier knowing that they'll still have work despite this Embracer Group debacle.

I think the "multiple platforms" thing for Shiver was probably a way of saying "Switch and Switch 2" without directly saying that

Yeah who doesn't want to have all your private data recorded by an AI owned by a greedy company

There should be a law to ban companies from putting AI into applications for children

100% convinced Nintendo acquired Shiver because executives just wanted an excuse to fly to Miami every now and then

The Dolby Surround thing was a big thing back then. Especially games. I remember Xbox having Native Dolby 5.1 on games in 2001. Also I'm Trying that CRT Mario Builder 64
