Motor Replacement in HO scale Atlas HH660

The motor in my HH660 failed. I could not fix it so a replacement was ordered from ebay. It was the same as the original except the motor shaft was too long at both ends. I cut the shaft back to the right length using a dremel cutoff disk, being careful to keep the filings away from the motor magnets. I used a vice to carefully press back on the brass flywheels and plastic universals. It now runs as well as it ever did! It cost US$5.00 delivered to my letterbox in Brisbane Australia and about 2 hours of my time.

Good job. It runs very smoothly. Where did you purchase the motor? Any link?
