Would love to see a Japanese company attempt something like real littles. Japanese stationary is already superior, but imagine that in miniature form and packed in kawaii miniature backpacks, suitcases, fridges etc.

for your pencil, it's likely that you've dropped it a few times, or fidget with tapping etc and broke the lead on the inside. For artists this is super important to avoid doing because it causes breaks during sharpening. Same thing for dropping gel pens, it can form bubbles in the liquid and those bubbles cause them to dry out, even if they look full. So if you have high quality drawing supplies keep them somewhere safe/drop proof!

You definitely started with a pencil problem. The lead is all broken throughout the pencil. Rough handling, dropping, and sometimes aggressive grips like mine can break the lead. After that, I'm guessing the blade in the sharpener shifted. tightening that screw should solve it.

OK so. A lot of people put calendars on the refrigerator that’s why the sticky notes look like a calendar and why their were 12 of them - 12 months in a year. The stripy pencil was supposed to be a straw sticking out of the bag. The “random“ stickers were supposed to represent magnets for the refrigerator, I assume.

The bag was probably supposed to be bagged milk or a juice pouch: because the pencil (straw) was built to go through the little opening in the bag like a juice pouch. (It was in one of the pictures)

I think one concept you're missing in these toys, like the locker, is our age. As a kid I would love a cool fridge to use with my dolls and etc, or a locker. So there's an entire side to the toy that we don't enjoy anymore as we're older lol.

Maybe the stickers were meant to emulate the random magnets people put on their fridge. There are some good aspects in this set, but overall underwhelming for an adult collector. Definitely would go crazy for it when I was younger though! Which is prob what they want lol

I appreciate your honesty & that you don't let "getting free stuff" deter you from leaving reviews!!! We need more people like you on the interwebs! Thank you so much, you're always a treat to watch.
ETA: I think the stickers are supposed to act as "magnets" - maybe that's why they're so random?

I understand that the pencils in these sets are small because it's part of the appeal of them. However, the size/length of the pencils is the exact same as when I typically throw pencils away 😅. In regards to the pencils that kept breaking, I don't know if it's from the sharpener or not. I know that if you've ever dropped your pencils before it shatters the graphite inside, which can lead to breakage. But maybe it could also be caused by a crappy sharpener, I'm not sure though🤷

So, I think I know what's wrong with the sharpener? Essentially they didn't use a good enough quality screw or plastic. When the screw starts to loosen in a sharpener, the shavings start to look the same that they did in the video. Basically what's happening is that the screw loosened too much to be able to sharpen the pencil. You can fix it by screwing it in more, but it'll end up coming undone again because the plastic isn't strong enough to hold it. I think it probably happened because of the sharpener being moved into the fridge, because you can't put the same amount of pressure to hold it as you were before it went inside.

By the way, the 2 small containers in the fridge are yogurt cups. (Haha so glad you figured it out)
Also, video idea: Scanning the tiny barcodes on all the mini products you review.

Way back in the 1980s, one of the stores at the mall, like Spencer’s Gifts, sold a tiny 1950s style refrigerator filled with stationery/office supplies that did a perfect job. It all looked like the food/drink it was supposed to be, and the office supplies worked.

When you open the door, you're pushing on the side which locks the door in, only pull the door and don't squeeze and it will open easier! also the bag is like a bag of strawberry juice and the notebook is the juice itself! the pencil is the straw and can poke out of the side :))

It’s probably just supposed to be banana and strawberry yogurt. I’ve seen plenty of them in little cartons or containers before

Ideally the stickers would most likely become decorations for the front of the fridge like fun shaped magnets so it does make sense to have random images like the panda and sunflower

If you take the back off the calendar sticky notes you can stick the whole pad to the fridge 😊

I really want to see Jackie fill this with her own little stationary items from someplace like Daiso.

When you drop pencils or tap them on the edge of something or use them to sword fight, the lead inside gets broken into small bits. Small bits of lead will fall out of the pencil easily. I tell kids all the time not to rap their pencils on things because it breaks the lead.

But the sharpener was trash.

I've always thought the lead breaking thing was a pencil issue, same for the 'doesn't want to sharpen' thing you ran into with the Crayola pencil. I've always had it happen with cheaper pencils but not the Ticonderoga pencils we were always told to get by school growing up. For the lead, I'm pretty sure it's just a more brittle formulation used, and for the sharpening, it's DEFINITELY a softer wood used. Some of the best pencils out there use remarkably hard wood which in turn doesn't dull the razor in a sharpener - which I think is what happened to yours! But I mean, it's Crayola, of course they'd go the cheap route. xD
