In the United States, Donald Trump's most senior officials have been struggling to deal with the continuing fallout over the release of highly sensitive information about a planned attack in Yemen.

The editor-in-chief of 'The Atlantic' magazine - who was accidentally included on a high-level group on the messaging app, Signal - has published full transcripts of what was discussed between the defence secretary and the vice president, among others.

They apparently contradict the Trump administration's denial that classified details were aired.

You know they're lying when their answer starts by "I don't recall".

Remember when Hilary Clinton used a private email address? At least they didn't make a big deal out of that.

As a military police officer, Lt Col, let alone as a Director, Tulsi Gabbard can't deny she knows DOD classification of strike packages?

In any other country in the Western World:
1) There is no chance that Trump would have been on the ticket, let alone voted in, AGAIN.
2) At least 2 people would have tabled their resignation out of shame - Yesterday.
3) Their Head of State would have already canned at least a couple more of these idjuts this morning.

As an American, this is beyond embarrassing. Whichever party you are affiliated with, you have to admit this was just pure incompetence & stupidity from the people in that group chat.

It’s true that American stereotypes abroad often lean toward the negative—arrogance, loudness, and insensitivity being among the most common perceptions. This isn’t a new phenomenon, but it does seem to have intensified in recent years, particularly with geopolitical shifts, foreign policy blunders, and the broader impact of cultural imperialism.

From Southeast Asia to Europe to Africa, locals have long observed Americans as brash, entitled travelers—often oblivious to local customs, dismissive of nuanced global perspectives, and prone to an inflated sense of superiority. The once-admired American Dream has, for many, turned into an example of hypocrisy, with internal strife, political division, and governmental incompetence eroding its credibility on the world stage.

The U.S. government’s recent missteps, both domestic and foreign, have certainly done little to mend this reputation. Economic instability, foreign policy failures, and a growing detachment from allies have reinforced the notion that America is no longer the responsible global leader it once claimed to be. The decline in respect for all Americans, even those who may not subscribe to these stereotypes, is an unfortunate consequence of these broader trends.

And yes, this is largely self-inflicted. Nations rise and fall by their own hands, and in many ways, America’s current trajectory is the result of choices made by its own people—politically, socially, and culturally. A nation that once prided itself on leadership and innovation now struggles with internal chaos, polarization, and diminishing international influence.

Do you think there’s any way for America to regain respect, or has the damage been done?
