I use sand for daniage layer and it is working perfectly 😊 water has an amount of surface tension, and the small particles like sand actually help to break it, and get "suck up" (bown haha) the excess water 💧.

I'm Currently Awaiting my Fittonia and Some isopods to get to my home! I live in Europe and ( I Presume ) They're not from here, so i'm waiting patiently.😶
Also a Video idea: Make a Terrarium in a Bowl, with a small drainage layer, some Fittonia cutttings and a small crawling plant. I Think it would be great, and give a message that you can make something beautiful with anything!😁

Just a big question I have : I try to make my own terrarium and use some fern like you inside it. but I am worry after some months the fern grow larg and fill all space of it with leaves . just i want to know your adea and advise .whats happen on the plants at terrarium when they grow and get large ... ?

Love the videos as they have been a great help in getting started. Question about the substrate: is there any water involved in the process? My coco fibre is already the ground-up form so I don't have the hydrate step like you do with the compressed stuff, or is there any difference once mixed? Thanks again!

Wondering if i saw some English ivy in one you showed!? If not...do you think English ivy would do good in a terrarium? Would I want it to be established first or throw in propagation clippings!?

How often do you water this soil? I've been misting every other day because all my plants ended up drying out and getting crunchy... Not sure what I did wrong.. For furher info I'm using a reptizoo terrarium, I planted string of frogs, Begonia Malachosticta, and Begonia peridot. I also live in a tropical environment.. Not sure how my soil keeps drying up so fast. Maybe ratios where a bit off for worm castings to bark? I used a measuring cup so I'm unsure.

I just maked my first small terrarium. And have a question about moist. I have used a 1Ltr jaar with with which I can close. After one week I need to clean the glass from the inside which has moist buildup Is this a sign that I used too much water or is this going away after a While? Sorry for my bad english 😂

Thanks for the video. Would like to try out building my first terrarium. Any suggestions for ready substrate to order in EU (Spain)? You had some suggestion from amazon in older videos but it is not available anymore. Maybe you can suggest some alternatives that can be used in the beginner builds. Thanks!
