honestly, I don't even mind the quest itself, it's actually one of my favourites. It's just how obnoxiously loud Meridia is when you find the beacon, it gives me a heart attack

fun fact: By going to mount killkreath and speaking to meridia before finding the beacon, she will give you a quest to get said beacon and will put a marker on your map for it. this gives you the ability to know its location in the game world and skip it entirely for the rest of your playthrough lol

Everybody hates this quest but I never had a problem with it, I always loved the sword you get for completing it

Meridia is nothing if not persistent:
I left that cursed beacon of hers in a chest, when I for once decided to not "loot all". Patted myself on the back, thinking I'd saved myself from this nonsense for now, noted which moth infested ruin her shiny ball resided for later and ventured on! But of course - That woman just spawned the disco ball somewhere else, and jump scared me several hours of gameplay later as I fast looted some stupid urn looking for gold in another ruin!

First time I picked up that damn beacon I was still on my first playthrough, it was nearly 2 am and dead silent in my house. I had been playing so long I didn't even realize I still had my headphones on, nor did I see it just hit Take All. I walked away from that chest and got the living SHIT scared out of me so bad that I knocked over my chair and woke up my mom. Didn't touch Skyrim for like a month after that🤣

I remember when I picked it up Meridia and Lydia were talking at the same time so I tuned out the entire conversation as I was looting and didn't even realize I had the quest for days.

I remember hearing this dialog all over tiktok as a meme, and I had no idea it was from skyrim. I figured it was from like league or diablo or something. When I found the beacon in game like a month ago, I was so confused. I thought it had come from one of the mods in the modlist I'd downloaded lmao

Everytime i see this now, i go, "Oh HELL NO!" Haa! Usually leave it where it is for a few game centuries before going, "Hmmm go on then. Let's get the nagging out of the way." 😂
