Is it a good idea to walk away once in a while? I took a break. Went on vacation. Left all guitars at home. Let's pick one up again for the first time, play a bit, and work on this song here.

Love it. But I feel you need to be honest and include the "amazing meal, great friends, late night.. next morning rainy day and bourbon, all alone in your room" stage.

Love that memory man trick. I use it too. I totally get coming back to the guitar after a week or more. I play multiple instruments and mix/master too. Sometimes it can be as much as a month before getting back to playing my guitars. I’m amazed sometimes how quickly my hands remember. And, likewise, I’m amazed sometimes how my hands forget. J - your channel is fantastic. A window into the hands and mind of a working pro is precious to players like me. Thanks for sharing with us. 🙏

Up to this point, I have been re-running your videos from the beginning of your channel, and learning/emulating ideas that I hear you creating. That has actually helped a ton -- I'm thinking in terms of the intervals and also all the chords I can play in any *one* position with minimal moves. So your course sounds like it's arriving just in time for the state I'm in. The band should be happy with what I bring them next. 🤘🎸

I m on a break now, I need one every once in a while, seems to keep things fresh

I find if I'm working on something particular for a day or so if I leave it alone for a few days afterwards suddenly there it is. Like it had to just marinate in my fingers for a couple of days lol. Short breaks seem to help but too long kind of feels like I have to get back to where I was then start.
