The 4 Types of Introverts
Introverts are often misunderstood members of social groups due to their quiet nature.

Social Introverts- Individuals prefer to spend time alone, if they do socialise it will only be with a very small close group of friends. They enjoy their own company and often feel emotionally drained in the presence of others. Social Introversion is a preference.

Introspective Introvert- Individuals spend a lot of time in their own head and thoughts. Also known as intellectual Introversion. Individuals have a rich and complex inner- world and is extremely self reflective and self aware.

Anxious Introvert- Individuals struggle with social interactions, perceived inability to function in large gatherings of people. Often decline invitations to social events as they are aware of the anxiety these situations may course. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can be vey useful to help break these negative thought patterns.

Restrained Introvert- Individuals often hold themselves back and takes a while to warm towards others. They are not afraid of social interactions, they are often very selective about who they open up to. They always think before they speak and once you have earned their trust you have earned it for a long time.
