Seeing Dijonay actually stand up for Penny is refreshing.

Maya encapsulates the 'not like other girls' trope so hard.

At least in this show, LaCienaga is more open about not actually being Penny’s friend than in the old show.

Maya saying she don't know and doesn't care yet she standing by watching it all go down. And don't think I didn't spot her casually turning the book right side up in la cienega's hands.

I think the way Maya’s character acts is very important. Like how she refused to believe the panda was happy where it was in the zoo. There are so many fake activist kids out there today who only want to be heard saying “woke” things and then go and act like garbage.

Why penny is always surrounded by toxic people she must learn to choose her friends.

Maya went from an “independent thinker” who hAtEs superficial people but then becomes Lacinega yes-man and follows her everywhere. I know it’s still early in the series but I feel like the creators really don’t know what to do with her character. I’m still holding hope for her character maybe she’ll grow as the series goes on

Maya doesn't want to support a sport that doesn't have equal pay for women... By refusing to watch a woman play basketball. Just like she told LaCienega about Beethoven being black, but all up in her phone and not listening to Kareem play his Cello

Even if we hate Dijonay. There’s one thing we can seem to rely on, is that she’s loyal when it comes to love I guess? From what we know with Sticky, she’s still with the girl code.

What's funny is that Maya probably doesn't show up at women's games either.

The irony in Maya saying she won’t watch a sport that pays women “1/20th” of what the men make is that she’s contributing to that pay discrepancy. More people watch men’s basketball so the NBA and their partners make more money and the men get paid more too.

If you want the women to get paid the same, start watching more of their games and put your money where your mouth is.

The detail of LaCienaga carrying the book upside down and Maya flipping it right side up is perfect.

I dont mind characters being activists or social justice supporters. But Maya said she wouldnt support basketball because the Basketball Organization doesnt pay female sport teams as the same as male ones. But she allows and supports a girl stealing another girl's boyfriend? Make it some sense, Maya.

Bruh. I'd thought Maya would be the type to support her fellow woman, but guess not 💀 fake Feminist

I agree with what everyone says about Dijonay. That girl was often spineless, and a follower. If anyone insulted Penny, she did too. This is refreshing.

So much more for Mother Teresa patronizing for woman's rights--how can Maya call herself an activist if she stoops down to being LaCienaga's follower?
