It's really hard to see the Gospel advancing when we ourselves do not preach the Gospel the way the early believers did. However, regardless of our weaknesses, Christ will advance his Kingdom!

I love Dr Schreiner and his work. His humility is a standout and his scholarly work is just brilliant. I can't wait for his Baker Revelation commentary.

I like how the video ends with “so, um, yeah.” 👌

How can the Thousand Year Kingdom be part of the New Creation if Satan gets let out after?

Thank you for posting this and keeping me up to date with Tom Schreiner's changing views!

I wonder why he’s so sure he’d never be postmill. Postmill resolves so many problems between the Amill and premill camps, although admittedly it’s hard to believe the gospel will actually keep advancing and eventually convert all the nations to Christ.

If so many Christians don't believe God spoke clearly, why do they think He wrote? The recognition of the whole counsel's perspicuity is essential to a healthy growing Christian life.

"I'm unstable on the millenium"
next sentence:
"I'm writing a comprehensive review of the book of Revelation"

I relate with Dr Tom Schreiner so much on eschatology 🤣. I was raised dispensational, believed historic premil for a while, and recently leaning amil although without total confidence. I've never heard of new creation mil but sounds like I'll be going down that route if my journey of eschatology continues to mirror Dr Tom Schreiner 😅

Hello Tom, this is from your old friend Bob Stone in the twin cities, to share that only postmillenialism has an optomistic hope for the power of the "gospel" to succeed in making "will to be done on earth as it is in heaven", because the truly believe it will be done, and "the gates of hell cannot stand against it". Just a for your consideration. Always appreciated your teaching.

I am historical pre-mill and have considered the same question about who rebels at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ. I have a few thoughts:

1. Will children be held responsible for receiving the mark of the beast? This goes back to the idea of the age of accountability.

2. Not all non-believers die in Revelation 19. We know what the bible says about thise who took the mark of the beast, however, they will still have children. So, what I see is, the dead in Christ, Old Testament believers, and ratured saints will have new bodies and will not be having children. But the mortal people on earth will continue having children and repopulate the earth during this time. I believe people can still get saved after Christ returns while he physically reigns on earth

3. Human trafficking victims that exist when Christ returns. Will they be held responsible if forced to receive the mark? Will there be these kinds of captives set free when Christ returns?

Thats a few possibilities. But I am convinced that the 1000 year reign of Christ happens on this earth. The new heaven and earth don't appear until after the final judgement.

My view of the millennium exactly.. I thought I was the only one who held this view! Its just what the bible says. Now I know it's got a name! Wow! Praise God, I've been asking Him a bit about this recently. Thank you so much and every blessing from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ❤

The first resurrection is the church. It’s the born-again experience in which the second death has non-effect. Why doesn’t anybody study their Bible?

Who would be the unbelievers who rebel at the end of the millennium if all the wicked have been destroyed and were in the New Creation? (In Schreiner’s new view?)

My takeaway : this is not an issue of salvation and as we renew our minds in scripture and mature, we come to different conclusions than the ones repeatedly taught in doctrine and it's ok to disagree on these types of belief systems?

Why does Baker want to replace Osborne's commentary on Revelation?

Oh, btw, Vlach has a relatively new book out about this subject.

Lol, I love Schreiner: "You gotta keep up with me because on the Millennium I am very unstable you can say... I am actually working on a major commentary on Revelation..."

Rev 20:4 can be either "continued to live and reign" or "live and reign". See the Greek word "zao" how it can mean either. See Steve Gregg's study on the chapter. That 'problem' has already been solved. Not sure why he cant be amil. Though im open to the idea that God can fulfill promises in the eternal state too
