Wield swords, bows, and chant magick. The vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2 give you the ability to approach combat the way you want.

Players can customize their own main Pawn, who will always accompany your Arisen, and enter a covenant with up to 2 additional Pawns from other players through the network.

Beyond the town borders, you will encounter diverse monsters that inhabit the lands. You will need to decide between engaging in battles or finding alternatives; so be aware of your party’s setup, the terrain around you, and the monsters you face.

Travelers, merchants, soldiers and other folk go about their daily lives.
Preoccupied by their own objectives and motives, they all exhibit different emotions. At times, they may lead you to a quest by approaching you and asking for a favor.

Rediscovered during stream that you can get 2 of the books necessary for the mage quest at the Waterfall Cave, which is Northeast of the Borderwatch Outpost (basically right near where you start the game after escaping on the Gryphon). This will get you Death Nation's Knell and the Howling Blizzard, saving you from having to make an extra duplicate of the Fulminating and saving a trip to the Centaph.

Additionally, if you use the ballista in Melve to shoot down the dragon and kill it when it attacks, you can get the Mystic Spearhand ultimate extremely early in the game.

As a reminder if you're not receiving a skill from a Meister, chances are your vocation level is too low at the time.

Prefect, I cant play today or for the first little bit cause in Cardiac Care fighting with Pericarditis and Pneumonia but Cowboy got the videos hitting the pipe line of what i need to make my Mystic Spearman class for when I return home will entertain me for my hospital vist!

extra heads up. for the mystic spear hand quest, you can go into town up the tower and use the ballista to kill the dragon, just wait for it to fly up and knock it out of the air. take about 2 to 3 shots and it'll die. HOWEVER AND SPOILERS HERE. IF YOU DO THIS. you will get an OP twinsword and the best mystic hand skill this way. so if you dont want to just steam roll with this weapon i suggest point in you storage till you feel like you want to use it. Happy hunting!

Just a heads up for anyone playing Thief and wanting to personally use blades of the pyre - the trick is to use Formless Feint first. You won't suffer the blowback damage from it at all. Yeah, definitely useless on pawns since I don't think they're smart enough to always use feint first? But if you're running the vocation yourself it's a pretty nutty combo.

FYI if you're using formaless form and than blades of the pyre you take no fire damage you literally dodge your iwn self damage found that cool as hell and op

I ran into a quest blocker that I couldnt for the life of me figure out. After turning in all the books to the girl, she just gave me generic dialog over and over. Thought game was bugged.
Turns out her grandma was killed at some point, preventing the quest from going forward. Went to the main city, found her body and resurrected her. That fixed the issue and was able to continue the quest.

for anyone wondering; you do NOT need to level a Vocation to unlock the Maister Skills. i was rank 1 Trickster and got it, you just need to unlock the Vocation

For the fighter vocation the dude just straight up gave me the scroll after i did a sidequest to open an oxcart route to Melv which i started in Vermune, i got it before the dragon attacked Melv.
Edit: i also used the pendant you get with the deluxe edition to max my bond with Ulraka (the red haired chick) once i did he immediately showed up and gave me the scroll so maybe thats the trigger.

I love just how good the theif skills work togather, the super dodge negates the damage for the other skill so you can just spam it without it chipping away at you just need to keep the stamina up.

Also, if you go to the ballista on top of the tower in Melve, you can kill the dragon you can get an OP spear to use as well as some other upgrades!

If anyone is struggling to complete the Sorcerer/Mage meister quest, check the morgue in the capital, because apparently the grandmother dies really easily and if she's dead the quest gets soft locked and prevented from continuing. Happened to me and I didn't realize what I had to do in order to fix it for like an hour

When you're showing all the skills at the end of the video, you don't have to keep backing out to the npc to change vocations. You just need to hit the left button lol. That said, great video.

blade of the pyre dmg on yourself can be completly avoided with formless faint and it's pretty strong

Trickster, and thief don’t even need to be unlocked (i specifically mean using DP to gain access at the guild) for you to get the special skill, but you cant use the scroll until you do. You NEED to have archer equipped to finish its quest, and idk about any others because i either haven’t done them, or i was already leveled in that vocation

Interesting about the mage or sorcerer quest because that thunderous book I bought from the guy in Mel. I ended up giving to that one guy in Batal, which when he used it his mother and daughter turned to Ash. So I think that voids this question for me I'm not sure.

*Spoilers: Hey @FightingCowboy you can also duplicate a Portcrystle by giving it to the Sphinx, Additionally when she takes off and flies to the new location no need to pack stamina potions just climb to the top and let go when stamina bar drains then regrip when full.

If you dont get the fighter skill. Give him beast parts. Rest and do it for a couple days. He will auto talk to u after and give it to you
