The Parliament Class Starship from Star Trek Lower Decks is the 2380 cruiser that could do a bit of everything but was primarily at home undertaking large scale engineering problems and logistical operations, akin to the California Class but with more tech behind it.

Its now my headcanon that this ship was O'Brien's brainchild and that makes me so happy.

O.M.P.F.: Overall Mass Pushing Force. Good to see Certifiably ingame use real-world measures for the engines.

4:00 For starfleet, a weapon is just a tool with easy setup.

My head canon is that the California class was originally drawn up as the Miranda class type workhorse ship counterpart to the Ambassador class, but along the way the design went a bit wonky and was delayed until the pre-Galaxy class era of the Freedom & Cheyenne class.

The Vancouver on the other hand, feels like it could legitimately be that same Miranda-esque workhorse counterpart, only for the Sovereign class. Only this time the design brief stayed truer to the Miranda concept.

It would be nice to see the Parliament class in live action.

I feel like the Parliament is a Super Miranda. It's strength is its flexibility and ability to get stuff done. I wouldn't be surprised if a future Parliament is the U.S.S. O''Brien, or if an O'Brien variant will be introduced in the future.

The design of this class is superb. It is simple and elegant but still looks somewhat formidable with a wide variety of applications.
Say what you will about Lower Decks, but they have given us some very interesting designs.

I think there is a good argument for the Parliament class to have been in service for a while before 2380, with the two known ships of the class, the USS Vancouver and the USS Toronto, having hull registries of NCC-70492 and NCC-70494. That would make them more contemporary with the Defiant (NX-74205), Sovereign (USS Sovereign NCC-73811), and other post Wolf-359 vessels from the early 2370s than the newer Luna class ones (USS Luna NCC-80101)

Love this ship design. Really one of the best to come out of Lower Decks. I do really like the Cerritos though it took a long to for me to warm up to it. Now that I have both of them in model form they are some of my favourites in my collection.

I just love these. They are also an homage to the fact recent trek filming has been in Canada. I thought that was a nice touch.

I love when StarFleet ships have windows on decks so thin that it must not be wider than a hallway but lets pretend there are crew compartments with windows in there too.

As a Canadian, it's nice to have a class that (so far) takes its names from Canadian major cities: Vancouver and Toronto. I can easily imagine Parliament Class USS Edmonton, USS Yellowknife, or USS Charlottetown showing up some day.

I just love the look of this ship! It just looks like a perfect fit for its era. Fast, battle ready in an emergency but an every day ship you can see getting in over its head, but pulling through and getting out of dodge fast.

Looks like an updated take on a Miranda minus the pod on top and put the pod underneath

It's probably a modular ship that could be focused into different specialities. Like, the Vancouver is explicitly an engineering ship, but other vessels of the class could be focused on other things (or maybe the success of the Vancouver made Starfleet phase out it's non-engineering versions).

Wow, that is a TON of escape pods on that thing. Those impulse engines are so over the top HUGE it looks like they could incinerate the nacelles

i truly love this design and one of the best one from modern trek series and i love to see it in a live action series the fact that we didnt see it in picard is strange since i belive it would be still in service special if you look at other ships that serve for 100+ years i cant remember how many years there is between lower deck and picard

I think count 6-8 visible torpedo tubes on the STO model you showed in the video. 4-6 forward (all on the underside of the saucer 4 just below the registry numbers and maybe 2 just below the name), and 2 aft on the deflector pod.

I love the design. Nice and sleek that has a little attitude to it.
