Is used cooking oil the new jet fuel? Hear from Sami Jauhiainen of Finnish energy giant Neste, the world’s largest producer of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

#Singapore is the site of the world’s largest refinery for SAF in terms of capacity, and this is owned and operated by Neste. Made from 100% renewable waste and residue oils and fats such as used cooking oil, SAF in its unblended form can reduce greenhouse gas emissions from flying by up to 80% when compared with conventional jet fuel.

After its first investment in Singapore in 2007, Neste set up its APAC Innovation Center in 2023 to pursue innovation and R&D in renewable and circular solutions. Working closely with local partners, it has established an integrated supply chain that links the refinery directly to Singapore's Changi Airport – with Singapore Airlines and Scoot now using Neste’s SAF produced in Singapore.

Watch to find out how Neste is growing the SAF ecosystem to support the aviation industry’s #netzero emissions goals, from Singapore.
