I had just left college when these games released and as a Pokémon fan since the 90’s this was a HUGE deal.

So it will always hold a special place in my heart. It was the first time as an adult that I was genuinely so excited for a new Pokemon game.

DUDEEE! I JUST started playing X/Y for the first time this month!!! It’s the last GEN I haven’t played yet and I want to say I played every generation. I’m 20hrs in and I’m liking it so far.

A major thing that I feel like you forgot to metion in the video is the new Online Features in XY, they were soooo good and really made you feel connected to other players around the whole world.
Wondertrade was also a great new option to trade random Pokemon ^^ Finishing the Pokedex in Y was so much fun, trading with others was great.
It's such a shame that now the servers of the 3DS are down, but I will always treasure these memories of having the whole world connected and easily seeing all these other trainers from all over the world playing the same game :)

only 100%ed battle maison in XY may take more time than actually beating a current Pokemon switch game. You need to do the 50 battles without losing in single, double, triple and rotation battle to unlock the super variant, and do not forget about the chatelaine teams. Every team comp is well paved if you do not EV max your pokemon.

do not forget that we do not have a battle facility in the latest pokemon game scarlet/violet, if you want to keep playing you either pay for online or don't play, as it does not have an offline battle facility.

XY is a great full game compared to the current Pokemon games situation we have on switch, and good games compared to their 3DS siblings.

I had a lot of fun with X & Y, they did get a lot of unnecessary hate that it doesn't deserve. Some weren't a fan of the story, when it comes to games all I want is something that's simple to understand rather than an Academy Award-winning movie. I think it had a good amount of difficulty and wasn't easy at all

I played this game on release and it was so easy that I remember very little of the actual pokémon battles with my memories being of rollerblading around, big French castles, and a barely existent postgame. I remember them playing up the nobility and monarchy elements of Kalos, which was strange to me as France is a republic and Japan is a monarchy.

X and Y was the very first Pokémon game I played honestly, I played it probably over 7-8 times 😂.
They’re not perfect but I know for me besides games like ruby and sapphire and black and white I never saw myself playing any of the newer games like that again, I tried sun and moon but I only ever did one run and same with sword and shield.
And don’t even get me started on scarlet and violet I’m so off and on it’s just like drinking where i rarely do it, but no other game had me caught up like x and y did.

Pokemon Y was my first pokemon game i played when i was 10 years old so of course it has a special place is my heart. Kalos is definitely one of the better regions overall especially looks wise but that’s obvious. Sure the games are easy but that’s literally most mainline pokemon games once you turn 13 lol. I always thought these games received much more hate from some people then they deserved. Crazy that X and Y turn 11 years old next month. Im extremely excited for Legends ZA and hope the game will do well. A video like this for pokemon Ultra sun and Ultra moon would be nice, and great job on this one :D
